You mayhaps recall a baby blanket I was working on many months ago. My last post about it claimed I was very nearly done, and I was! All I had left was the binding. That must’ve been back in July. I was going to visit my friend and meet her son in August.
Well, I didn’t have a good time with the binding. I was working down to the hours before I left for the trip, but I didn’t get it done. Aagh!! I couldn’t bring it to give to the baby. I was so sad.
For months it just sat around. Once or twice I picked it up and tried to finish it, but I just couldn’t have a good time with the binding. Finally, not too long ago, I decided what I would do. I had been trying to top stitch on some home made bias tape. My new plan was to machine sew the binding to the top of the quilt, and hand finish it on the bottom. I also decided to curve the corners of the blanket. (You know, cause I wasn’t already having a hard enough time with this blanket.)
Even though the hand sewing took me all day, I ACTUALLY FINISHED THE BLANKET. WHAAAAAAT! It’s totally complete! Hopefully it won’t take me another 5 months to ship the dang thing.
I really like how it turned out. It’s the first quilt I’ve completely finished (if it even counts as a quilt). So yay me. :) Maybe now I’ll actually finish that one other quilt I started a year ago. It too only really needs the binding.
